Buffalo River to low to float

The Buffalo -- America's First National River: Established in 1972, the Buffalo National River flows freely for 135 miles and is one of the few remaining undammed rivers in the lower 48 states. During the Spring runoff visitors enjoy running rapids and soaking in quiet pools while surrounded by massive bluffs. This year, the drought has taken its toll on the river. Most of the upper river is too low to float, and as a result, tourists are turning to the White River below Beaver Dam for relief.
