God directs building of Thorncrown Chapel, Eureka Springs
What would cause a California retired teacher to move to Arkansas and build a chapel in the woods on his Eureka Springs property? Well according to son Doug Reed, his father Jim Reed did just that, almost 35 years ago today. Mr Reed hired Architect E. Fay Jones of Fayetteville to design what is now the Thorncrown Chapel, just east of town. As I reported yesterday, the chapel has been considered a place of Architectural significant to the world. Today the Thorncrown Chapel celebrated 32 years. As a part of the celebration a special event was held at the chapel. The presentation this afternoon was lovely song and prayer filled the chapel as well as stories of how Mr. Reed and his family struggled with the cost to build the chapel and how God provided in more ways then one. Praise to God and those who hear his voice and have enough strength to carry out his will.
