Crystal Bridges Artist visits

Karen LaMondte visits and speak at the Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville Arkansas. Ms. LaMondte spoke in regard to her 2007 sculpture Dress Impression with Wrinkled Cowl reflect the women and the society in which she lives. She adds as she bagan creating glass sculptures if dresses as "an inquiry" into expression of beauty,a reinterpretion of classic beauty.
It tool nine months to create the piece a sereies of creating a live body cast, a rubber mold and wax shell. Upon visiting the Toledo Museum, Alice Walton,remarked after seeing on of Karen pieces and remartked "We need a Karen LaMonte"
The rest is history, when visiting the Crystal Bridges the Karen LaMondte is a part of the museums collection.
