Researchers at the Hershey Center for Health and Nutrition found that a single serving of dark chocolate has more anti-oxidants and polyphenols than a single serving of some fruits. dark chocolate and cocoa had more antioxidant activity and more flavonols than fruit. Seventh Annual Chocolate Festival is scheduled for this weekend Saturday February 12, 2011 from 9:00 to 3:00 p.m. The event is planned to be held at the Inn at Ozarks in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
This yearly event is held to benefit several non-profit organizations. Carroll County’s Meals on Wheels, Academy of Excellence, Galena High School Family and Consumer Science Department, Mission Clinic and Exeter High School FFA.

Oganizers are amazed as to how many ways there are to use chocolate, in fact the count is 500 chocolate recipes that have been collected and have been put in the Chocolate Lovers’ Festival Cookbook, a portion of the proceeds will support the Clear Spring School in Eureka Springs.This festival as well as many of the other wonderful festivals have been featured in Southern Living magazine, and it has been selected as the second-best attraction for Valentines’ Day in the state of Arkansas. The festival will feature the "best of" under both the professional and amateur categories.
