Considered one of the strangest dwellings in the state, “Quigley’s Castle” is the quaint home of the late Elsie Quigley.“Quigley’s Castle” boasts a large perennial garden with over 400 varieties of flowers, a lily pond, and extensive collections of butterflies, fossils, arrowheads, glassware, crystals and stones.
This home’s architecture captures the imagination and is designed to bring the outside world in. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was featured on the Home and Garden Television Channel.
Elsie’s descendants continue to live in this unique home and share it with the world by providing guided tours. As of 2010 admission to “Quigley’s Castle” is $6.50 for adults. Children under 14 who are accompanied by a paying adult are admitted free. Just a short trip from the Angel at Rose Hall.
