Yellowstone National Park but Lower Yellowstone Falls

From Lookout Point with Red Rock Trail - Yellowstone National ParkThere are over 300 known waterfalls in Yellowstone National Park but Lower Yellowstone Falls is undoubtedly the Granddaddy of them all. It sports the largest drop of 308 feet (93 m) and carries the entire volume of the Yellowstone River which can reach 63,500 gallons of water per second in flood stage.

If someone were to ask you after a trip to Yellowstone if you'd seen the waterfall they would be referring to this. The surroundings for this waterfall are not lush green forests, but steep cliffs cut out of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.

As many waterfalls compare themselves with Niagara Falls in New York, Canada. Yellowstone Falls is about two times the Height of that waterfall but has a smaller volume.Website: http://www.yellowstone-natl-park.com/wfalls.htm
