The American Legion Walker-Wilson Post #9 will honor our Veterans with a brief ceremony including a twenty-one gun salute at Calif Spring on November 11 at 11:11 a.m. following the Veterans Day Parade.
Veterans Day, or Armistice Day, commemorates the signing of the treaty that took effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918 that ended “the war to end all wars.” The following year, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11 to be the day that our nation pauses to honor the heroism of those who died in the service of our country fighting for our freedom.
the Eureka Springs Historical Museum will have a special display featuring photos and memorabilia of The American Legion Walker-Wilson Post #9 and other military divisions and of those brave individuals from this area who have served our country.
