Author and chef Kim O'Donnel will be returning to NW Arkansas with her new book, The Meat Lover's Meatless Cookbook. A collection of 52 seasonally-inspired menus, the book is designed to help meat eaters (like herself) take a weekly break from meat, both for their health and the environment. Last fall, O'Donnel was testing recipes for her book in the culinary suite at the Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow. The Ozarks will be the ninth stop on her book tour; while here Nov. 5-9, O'Donnel will host two signings--at the Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow, 515 Spring Street, Eureka Springs, on Sunday, November 7th, at 3:00 PM and at Nightbird Books in Fayetteville on Monday, Nov. 8th, at 7:00 PM.
O'Donnel is a trained chef, nationally recognized online food personality, and longtime journalist. She was the 2009 Duncan Eat-Write Fellow at the Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow. A graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education, she is a regular contributor to Culinate.com, where she hosts a weekly chat. She has also written for the Washington Post, Real Simple, and Huffington Post. She was selected as one of Seattle's Most Influential People of 2010 by Seattle Magazine. Her new column, Family Kitchen, will debut in USA Today, in November. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she now lives in Seattle with her husband.
