Don Gammie Turkey Trot" Fund Raiser to Benefit

Grassy Knob Volunteer Fire Association
The “Don Gammie Turkey Trot” will take place at Lake Leatherwood Park west of Eureka Springs on Thursday, November 25, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Grassy Knob Volunteer Fire Association.
This fund raiser is spearheaded by Jean Gammie in honor of her husband, Don Gammie, a marathon runner who is celebrating his 80th birthday this year. Jean said, “I invite the community to come out on Thanksgiving morning before that big turkey dinner and join in the fun. What better way to give thanks than support your local fire fighters and the “Turkey Trot' is a run suitable for all ages.”
There will be a 3.1 trail run/walk or one mile walk/run. These events will take place at Lake Lealtherwood Park west of Eureka Springs on two courses. The 3.1 trail course consists of a “forest trail”, somewhat narrow with a rough path and a short uphill portion. The one mile course is a broad, unpaved road suitable for less dedicated runners.”
Winners will receive medals in various categories. Tee shirts will be available for those whose registrations are received by November 18. Fee is $15 for adults, and $10 for children under 12.
