Steven Foster to Speak on Ozark Herbs and Medicinal Plants at Hobbs State Park Steven Foster, one of the most respected international names in the herb and botanical photography fields, will speak at Hobbs State Park – Conservation Area Saturday August 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the park’s visitor center located on Highway 12 just east of Rogers. His topic will be Ozark Herbs and Medicinal Plants.
For thirty-five years, he has photographed and researched herbs from the Amazon rainforest to the highlands of Vietnam, and has over 800 photo-illustrated articles to his credit. Steven Foster is the author or co-author of seventeen books, including National Geographic’s Complete Guide to Medicinal Herbs (2010), and A Desk Reference to Nature’s Medicine (2006, with Rebecca Johnson), a 2007 New York Public Library “Best of Reference.” He is senior author of three Peterson Field Guides, including A Field Guide to Medicinal Plants and Herbs (with Dr. James A. Duke), 2nd edition, 2000, A Field Guide to Western Medicinal Plants and Herbs with Christopher Hobbs, (2002), and A Field Guide to Venomous Animals and Poisonous Plants of North America (with Roger Caras, 1995).
