St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Eureka Springs Arkansas

One of the best little churches in the US. It is hidden on the hill be Crescent Hotel. Locals who are CAtholic know it because it is their worship place. Visits are a wonder to see all the ornate beauty and color. It started in 1909, and was in disrepair after around 1950's until revival. Richard Kerens, a wealthy person of railroad base built it to memorialize his mother. He died in 1916. The chandelier has 7511 crystal pieces and 102 chains holding it. Around 1960's the group got together and raised funds to bring back to its original condition. The stained glass windows are new, but replicate an era of the past. It was to be a bit a a take off of Sophia in Turkey, but a lot of Hungary influence is here due to the locals being of that origin. The whole building inside and out makes you feel humble and reverent.http://www.eurekavacation.com/history/church.phtm
Please give a respectable donation to keep it going. Location up on the hill behind Crescent Hotel
