Hobb State Park – Conservation Area is offering a unique hands-on Astronomy workshop, Friday June 11th beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the park’s visitor center. Participants will build their own full-scale working model of the telescope used by Galileo 400 years ago. The group will then travel to Rocky Branch Marina to join Dixie Androes and Hobbs staff aboard a 28’ pontoon boat and cruise to a special location on Beaver Lake where participants will use their new GaleleoScopes to view the night sky.
Workshop space is limited. Time: 6:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Cost: $50.00 (Includes one GalileoScope, instruction, and one boat ride) Each additional person on the boat $10 each. (Under 6 free) Contact the park office to reserve your spot: 479-789-5000
