For those who have ever wanted to learn to kayak, an Introduction to Kayaking workshop will be offered at Hobbs State Park – Conservation Area on Saturday July 17. A certified American Canoe Association (ACA) instructor will explain all aspects of paddling as the group explores a calm arm of Beaver Lake.
Recreational kayaks, paddles, and lifejackets will be provided. Space is limited. Registration and pre-payment is required. The workshop is open to people 16 years of age and up. Participants will meet at the park visitor center. Bring a sack lunch, sunscreen, and dress for the weather.
Cost: $50 per person. Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Registration and pre-payment can be made by calling the Hobbs visitor center at 479-789-5000.
