Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza Fishing Tournament Set for June 25-27The 11th annual Big Bass Bonanza Fishing Tournament returns this year June 25-27. Arkansas’s largest amateur bass tournament will again span the entire length of the Arkansas River within the state’s borders. The prize money structure for the tourney has been dramatically altered so that the person catching the biggest bass overall will win $50,000 instead of $100,000 as in previous years. The remaining $50,000 will be distributed among the winners of the other four pools.The Willow Leaf Award of $1,000 will be presented to the parent/child or grandparent/grandchild pair who catches the heaviest bass. The child or grandchild must be under the age of 22 to be eligible.Anglers can choose to fish one, two or three days. More than 2,000 fishermen from across the region are expected to participate this year in the five different pools along the river. Online registration is available at www.arkansasbigbass.com. The Big Bass Bonanza is a project of the Arkansas Hospitality Association in conjunction with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau, the North Little Rock Visitors Bureau, the Fort Smith Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Russellville Tourism and Visitor’s Center and the Pine Bluff Convention Center and Visitors Bureau.
